Leave a gift in your Will
What is a bequest?
A bequest is a gift left to an organisation by an individual in their Will. It can take the form of cash, shares, property or other assets.
Why should you leave a gift in your will to the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research?
Your Will is one of the most important documents that you will ever prepare. It ensures that the people and organisations that you care about are provided for after your death. In preparing your Will, your first concern will obviously be for your family and others close to you. After providing for the financial security for your loved ones, you may like to consider including a bequest to the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research.
By remembering the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research in your Will you can help secure the future for people with respiratory and sleep conditions.
So whether large or small, your bequest will be valued greatly, because it will change the lives of people who have breathing difficulties and sleep disorders.
Your ultimate commitment may be directed to specific use, a particular area of research or for general respiratory or sleep research. Unspecified funds are of greatest assistance to the Woolcock as they help us to develop a funding pool that will grow and be of benefit in perpetuity.
If you are considering including the Woolcock in your Will, we will be pleased to answer any questions you may have. Please call (02) 9114 0000. Alternatively, if you are currently in the process of preparing your Will, you can use the suggested wording as follows :
'I _____________________ bequeath unto the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research, 431 Glebe Point Road, Glebe, New South Wales for its general purposes _________________________________________ free of all succession, estate and other death duties and declare that the receipt of the Director or other proper officer of the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research shall be sufficient discharge to my Executors in respect thereof.'
The Australian Taxation Office has endorsed the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research as a deductible gift recipient and an income tax exempt charitable entity for income and capital gains tax purposes.
We would be delighted to hear if you have included a bequest to the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research in your Will. Letting us know of your intentions will help us plan for the future and we would also like the chance to thank you personally.
